Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers and wide receiver Xavier Worthy have garnered attention as they make their debut on the prestigious Earl Campbell Tyler Rose preseason watchlist. This honor, named after the legendary Longhorn and 1977 Heisman Trophy winner, is bestowed upon the top offensive player in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) who exemplifies the qualities embodied by Campbell.

Xavier Worthy, a seasoned third-year receiver, has proven his worth in the 25 games he has played for the Longhorns. With an impressive career record of 122 receptions for 1,741 yards, Worthy has secured his place as one of the most talented receivers in the team's history. His remarkable 21 touchdowns currently rank him third on the all-time UT leaderboard. Recognized as a second-team All-Big 12 selection in 2022, Worthy has also found himself on the radar for multiple prestigious awards, including the Maxwell Award, Paul Horning Award, Biletnikoff Award, and Walter Camp Player of the Year preseason watchlists.

As the 2023 season unfolds, both Worthy and Ewers find themselves under the spotlight, burdened with high expectations. With a talented supporting cast surrounding them, the Longhorns' dynamic duo faces the challenge of meeting these hefty expectations. Texas enters the season as a favorite to claim the Big 12 championship, heightening the pressure on these exceptional athletes to deliver remarkable performances on the field.
